Why I Want Agents That Can Operate a Computer

When I follow the AI frontier, model capability improvements and new agents are what catch my attention first. For me, progress is not a leaderboard number; it is whether a system can take a real task from start to finish.

I want more than a better chatbot

The agent I want most is a real pair of hands for the computer. I describe the goal, and it can participate in game development, organize research, operate software, and complete a sequence of steps.

AI then becomes an operator inside the workflow, not only an answer engine. It can handle research, organization, repetition, and cross-app processes while the human keeps the parts that require judgment.

Automatic execution needs boundaries

Automation does not mean giving away every decision. Routine actions can run automatically, while payments, server configuration, and deleting or overwriting core files should require my confirmation.

I think of the ideal agent as a highly capable assistant: it can go a long way, but when it reaches a cliff, a locked door, or an irreversible button, it must stop and ask.

How I would judge it

I would evaluate an agent by three things: what tasks it can complete, whether it can recover after failure, and whether it clearly hands dangerous actions back to the human.

Useful AI changes the workflow, not only the conversation. The stronger the capability, the more important the boundaries and rollback behavior become.
